3-3. Drum Block
Removal
1. Remove the Rotary Head Cleaner
Assembly
Refer to steps 1 and 2 in Section 3-3-4.
2. Disconnect the Flexible Board
Disconnect the flexible board from connector
CN2 on the SE-358 board.
3. Release the Air Stabilizer
Refer to steps 4 in Section 3-3-1.
4. Remove the Drum Assembly
(1) Turn the upper drum assembly with fingers
counterclockwise and align the screw hole of
the upper drum assembly with the fixing
screw position on the lower drum assmbly.

The drum assembly is fixed to the chassis
with the three fixing screws (C3 x 8) in the
screw hole.
(2) Loosen the screw fully using a hexagonal
wrench driver.

These screws cannot be removed because of
stoppers.
(3) Loosen other two screws fully in the same
way as in steps (1) and (2).
(4) Raise the drum assembly just above and
remove the harness from the harness holder at
the bottom.

Be careful not to raise the drum assembly by
holding the brush/slip ring assembly.
(5) Disconnect three connectors CN602, CN610
and CN612 in the state of step (4).
The drum assembly can then be removed.

Be careful not to touch the CTL/TC head and
peripheral tape guides when removing the
drum assembly.
