NetWare Device Drivers
from Compaq
Your server must have certain device drivers to operate using NetWare. These
drivers are located on the Compaq SmartStart and Support Software CD
shipped with the server. If you use SmartStart to install the operating system,
these drivers will be installed automatically. Otherwise, you can use
SmartStart to create a NetWare Programs from Compaq (NPFC) diskette to
support a manual installation of NetWare.
For more information on these drivers, run the README.COM file in the root
directory of the NetWare Programs from Compaq diskette.
Manual installation
If you choose to configure the server without SmartStart, follow this
procedure:
1. Insert the Compaq SmartStart CD into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Boot your system.
3. Select Manual Installation.
4. Follow the instructions provided by the operating system that you are
installing.
Special Considerations
1. Please run README.COM on the NetWare Programs From Compaq
(NPFC) diskettes for more detailed driver installation instructions.
NPFC v3.05 or newer provides support for ProLiant 800 server.
