Using Security Management

Compaq ProLiant servers offer multilevel security to provide you with just the
right security solutions. This comprehensive security system works on three
levels: software, hardware, and mechanical. These three types of security
features enable and disable key subsystems of the computer, providing
flexibility in designing system security. The following table provides an
overview of the features and how they are accessed:
Feature
Administrator Password
Power-On Password
Logon Password
Security and Network Features
Purpose
Prevents reconfiguration of the
computer (use of the Computer
Setup option) until the password is
entered.
Prevents use of the computer until
the password is entered.
Prevents use of the computer unless
password is entered.
