(7) How to perform magnetic calibration
・If the watch is placed in a high magnetic field environment, the Compass mode
may not detect the magnetic north correctly, indicating incorrect directions. In
that case, follow the procedure below to perform magnetic calibration.
※Magnetic calibration may not be performed correctly if the watch is placed near permanent
magnets, household electrical appliances, and cellular phones. Be sure to keep the watch
level during the calibration procedure.
① Press and hold Button Ⓓ while the direction measurement is in progress or
stopped to show the magnetic declination correction display (DECLIn). The
magnetic declination correction value flashes in the middle row.
② Press Button Ⓑ to show the magnetic calibration display. "CALIB" appears in the top row.
③ Press Button Ⓔ to start calibration. The graphic (■■■) appears at the 12
o'clock position, and starts moving clockwise along the dial's edge.
④ Rotate the watch slowly counterclockwise so that the graphic always points to
the same direction. The graphic turns a full circle in approximately 16 seconds.
⑤ If the magnetic calibration is completed successfully, "PASS" is displayed. Press
Button Ⓑ to return to the magnetic declination correction display (DECLIn).
⑥ If the magnetic calibration is not performed correctly, "Err" is displayed. Press
Button Ⓑ to return to the magnetic declination correction display (DECLIn), and
resume the calibration procedure from Step ② above.
⑦ When the magnetic calibration is completed, press Button Ⓓ to return to the
direction measurement display. If the watch is left untouched with the digits flashing,
the display automatically returns to the direction measurement in 2 to 3 minutes.
