3. Resolve or clear Communication Manager alarms with SAT commands and the

Ensuring a super-user login exists

To ensure that a super-user login exists in Communication Manager:
1. Ask the customer to access the Login Administration SAT screen with a super-user login to
verify that a super-user account exists.
Alternatively, a Business Partner may need to verify that a super-user password exists and
can be used to access the server and SAT.
2. If a super-user account does not exist, you can create one after you have upgraded the
software. For more information, see

Backing up recovery system files

To back up the system configuration files:
1. Under Data Backup/Restore, click Backup Now.
2. Select the data sets, including Avaya Call Processing (ACP) translations and Save ACP
translations prior to backup. An ESS server or an LSP gets translatiaons from the main
server, so there is no reason to back up the translations on an ESS server or an LSP. Do not
select Full Backup because this option does not save translations.
Note:
If you back up to a flashcard, Avaya recommends that you use a different
Note:
flashcard from the one with the prior release translations. You might need these
translations if you need to back out of the upgrade, migration, or conversion
procedure.
3. Select the backup method.
4. Click Start Backup to start the back up process.
