2.1.5 Items To Be Confirmed Before Going to FIP Troubleshooting

Basic Printer Problems
Some printer problems can be easy to resolve.When a problem occurs with the printer, check the following:

If a message appears on LCD of the operator panel, see "2.2 Status Code List",

The printer power cable is plugged into the printer and a properly grounded electrical outlet.

The printer is powered ON.

The electrical outlet is not turned OFF by any switch or breaker.

Other electrical equipment plugged into the outlet is working.

All options are properly installed.

If you checked all the items above but the problem persists, turn OFF the printer, wait for 10 sec-
onds, and then turn ON the printer again.This often solves the problem.
Display Problems

If nothing is displayed on the operator panel, check and try the following:
a) Turn OFF the printer, wait for 10 seconds, and then turn ON it again.
If the problem persists, see or FIP-P2 DC Power FIP.

If you still have the problem after changing menu setting from the operator panel, try the follow-
ing:
The settings in the software program, the printer driver, or the printer utilities take precedence
over those configured through the operator panel.
a) Change the menu settings in the printer driver, the printer utilities, or the software program
instead of changing them through the operator panel.
b) Disable the settings in the printer driver, the printer utilities, or the software program.This
allows you to change the settings through the operator panel.
