When You Have Problems Operating the Machine

Problem
The machine does not turn
on.
When the machine is turned
on, the only icon that
appears on the home screen
is the [Copier (Classic)] icon.
The machine has just been
turned on and the User Tools
screen is displayed, but the
User Tools menu has items
missing.
The indicator lamp remains
lit and the machine does not
enter Sleep mode even
though the [Energy Saver]
key was pressed.
The display is turned off.

Cause
The paper output tray is full.
A item with the status "Error
Occurred" in the [Check
Status] screen is defective.

The AC power switch has
not been turned on.
Functions other than the
copier function are not yet
ready.

Solution
Remove the prints from the tray.
Press [Check] in the item where the
error has occurred. Then read the
displayed message, and take the
appropriate action. For details about
error messages and their solutions, see
page 425 "When Messages Appear".
You can use other functions normally.
Solution
Turn on the AC power switch. For
details about the AC power switch, see
page 519 "General Requirements".
