e n g i n e a t i d l e s p e e d , a n d l e t t h e a i r c o n d i t i o n e r
work tor a few minutes, then shut the engine off.
Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Recover the refrigerant with a Recovery/Recycling/
Charging System lsee page 22-211.
Remove the bolts, then disconnect the suction and
discharge lines from the compressor.
NOTE: Plug or cap the lines immediately after dis-
connecting them to avoid moisture and dust con-
t a m i n a t i o n .

DISCHARGE LINE
Remove the condenser (see page 22-35).
NOTE: Do not disconnect the discharge hose from
lhe condenser-
Remove the power steering pump belt {see section
1 7 1 .
SUCTION LINE

L o o s e n t h e c e n t e r n u t o f t h e i d l e r p u l l e y a n d t h e
adjusting bolt, then remove the Ay'C compressor belt
from the pulleys, Remove the two mounting bolts
from the left front engine mount, then remove the
A,/C compressor belt by passing it through the gap
between the body and the left front engine mount.

Remove the four mounting bolts and the compressor.
