Switch Test
1. Disconnect the battery negative cable, then disconnect
the positive cable, and wait at least three minutes'
2.
Disconnect the driver's airbag connector (see sec-
tion 24).

section 20).
4.
Disconnect the cable reel sub-harness 3P connector
from the main wire harness.

5 . Check for continuity between the No. 2 terminal of
t h e c a b l e r e e l s u b - h a r n e s s a n d b o d y g r o u n d w i t h
the horn switch Pressed.

lf there is continuity, the horn switch is OK.
lf there is no continuity, go to step 6.

2 4 ) , t h e n d i s c o n n e c t t h e h o r n c o n n e c t o r f r o m t h e
steering wheel.
Check for continuity between the No 2 terminal of
the cable reel sub-harness 3P connector and horn
p o s i t i v e t e r m i n a l .

. lf there is continuity, repair or replace the horn
switch.
l f a l l t e s t s p r o v e O K , r e i n s t a l l t h e d r i v e r ' s a i r b a g
assembly (see section 24), and reconnect the cable
reel sub harness connector'
Reconnect the driver's airbag connector, and reln-
stall the access panel on the steering wheel.
Reconnect the battery positive cable, then the negative
terminal.
After installing the airbag assembly, confirm proper
system oPeratlon:
Turn the ignition switch ON (ll); the SRS indica-
tor light should come on for about six seconds
and then go off.
Make sure both horn buttons work.
