A/T Gear Position Switch

Remove the lront console, then disconnect the
connector from the A'/T gear position switch
Remove the two mountang nuts

" N e u t r a l " a s s h o w n
above.
Move the shift lever to
"Neutral", then slip the switch
into posation.
Attach the switch with the two mounting nuts'
Test the switch in the E and N position of the shift
lever. The engine should start when the shift lever
is in position E anywhere in the range of free play
Connect the 14P connector, clamp the harness, and
install the front console.

Adjustment
1. Shift to the E position, and loosen the nuts'
2.
Slide the switch in the direction of El or E position
Iwithin 2.0 mm (0.079 in.)l so that there is continu'ty
between the No. 1 and No.7 terminals in the range
of free play of the shift lever'
3.
Recheck for continuity between each of the termi-
n a l s .
NOTE:

It adjustment is not possible, check for damage
t o t h e s h i f t l e v e r d e t e n t a n d / o r t h e b r a c k e t l f
there is no damage, replace the console switch'
. The engine should slart when the shilt lever is in
position S in the range of free play
