Starting System
Starter Reassembly

Disconnect the battery negative cable.
Disconnect the starter cable from the B terminal on
t h e s o l e n o i d , t h e n d i s c o n n e c t t h e B L K A T V H T

from the S terminal.

R e m o v e t h e t w o b o l t s h o l d i n g t h e s t a r t e r , t h e n
remove the starter.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE: When installing the staner cable. make sure
thatthe crimped side ofthe ring terminal isfacing out.

Connect the battery positive cable and negative cable
to the battery.

Starter Reassembly
1. Pry back each brush spring with a screwdriver, then
position the brush about halfway out of its holder,
and release the spring to hold it there.
2. Install the armature in the housing. Next. pry back
each brush spring again, and push the brush down
until it seats against the commutator, then release
the spring against the end of the orusn.
