Troubleshooting
lf the charging system light does not come on or does not go off, or the battery is dead or low, test the following items in
the order listed below:
1. Battery (see page 23 771
2.
Chargjng system light
3. Voltage
4. Alternator control system (USA)
5. Alternator/regulator

Charging System Light Ch€ck-1:
Make sure the charging system
light comes on.
Ch.ck lor a blown No. 15 {7.5 Al
fuse and a blown charging sys-
tem light bulb. lf the fu3e and
bulb are OK, ropair tho opon in
the wHT/BLU wila.
Does the charging system
light come on?
Charging Systcm Light Ch6ck-2:
Start the enoine.
Does the charging system
light go off?
Vollage Chock:
Measure the voltage at the No. 1

nector with the ignition switch ON
