SRS Unit
Replacement
CAUNON:
. Beforo disconnesting any part of the SRS wire har-
ness, disconneet the ailbag connector(s).
. During installation or rsplacement, do not bump
(impact wronch, hammor etc.) the aroa near tho SRS
unit.
NOTE:
. Do not damage the SRS unit terminals or connectors.
. Do not disassemble the SRS unit; it has no service-
able oarts.
. Store the SRS unit in a clean, dry area.
. Do not use any SRS unit which has been subjected to
water or shows signs of being dropped or improperly
handled, such as dents, cracks or deformation.
l. Disconnect the battery negative cable, then discon-
nect the positive cable from the battery, andwaitat
least three minutes.
2. Disconnect the airbag connector{s}:
NOTE: When disconnected, the airbag connector is
automatically shorted.
Driver's Side:
o Remove the access panel from the steering wheel.
then disconnect the 2P connector between the driv-
er's airbag and cable reel (see page 24-11).
Front Passenggr's Sidg:
. Disconnect the 2P connector between the front pas-
senger's airbag and SRS main harness (see page 24-
1 1 ) .

3. Remove the right side cover from the SRS unit.

T30 bit.
RIGHT SIDE
Remove the left side cover from the SRS unit. then
d i s c o n n e c t t h e S R S m a i n h a r n e s s 1 8 P c o n n e c t o r
from the SRS unit,
SRS UNIT
Remove the four Torx bolts from the SRS unit, then
pull out the SRS unit from the driver's side,
