ALTERNATOR/STARTER
SERVICE INFORMATION
GENERAL
• Always turn the ignition switch to "OFF" before servicing the alternator/starter. The alternator/starter could suddenly
start when the ignition switch is turned to "ON", causing serious injury.
• This section covers the removal and installation of the flywheel, alternator/starter and ignition pulse generator.
• These service can be done with the engine installed in the frame.
• Refer to page 15-8 for alternator/starter inspection.
