Instrumentation and Controls
You may feel or hear the system
working, but this is normal.
When the system is activated, the
®
Stabilitrak /Traction Control
System Light flashes.
SERVICE STAB SYS (service stabil-
ity system) will appear on the Driv-
er Information Center if your
stability enhancement system is
malfunctioning. See "Driver Infor-
mation Center Messages" earlier in
this section for more information.
When this message is displayed,
the system is not operational and
you should adjust your driving
accordingly.
You should normally leave the
system in its normal operating
mode, however make sure to turn
the system off if the vehicle is stuck
in mud, sand or snow.

To turn the Stabilitrak system off,
®
press and hold the Stabilitrak
Traction Control Button until the
®
Stabilitrak /Traction Control
System Light comes on.
If your vehicle is equipped with a
locking front axle, the Stabilitrak
Traction Control Button is located
on the instrument panel near the
accessory power outlets. Other-
wise, the button is located on the
instrument panel above the sound
system.
To turn both the Stabilitrak
system and the traction control
system off, press and hold the
®
Stabilitrak /Traction Control
button until the STAB SYS OFF
(stability system off) message
appears in the Driver Information
Center display.

The Stabilitrak /Traction Control
System Light will come on to
remind you that the system is off.

Press the button again to turn the
system back on.

When the transfer case is in four-
wheel low lock mode, Stabilitrak is
automatically disabled.
