Stabilitrak /Traction Control
System Light
This light should come on briefly
as you start the engine, as a check
to show you it is working properly.
If it doesn't come on, then have it
fixed so it will be ready to warn
you if there is a problem.
If it stays on or comes on while you
are driving, there may be a prob-
lem with this system.

The light will flash when the Stabil-
®
itrak or Traction Control System
is working to control the vehicle
on a low-traction surface.
Whenever this light is on steady,
the traction control system or the
®
Stabilitrak system is off.
• If the traction control system is
off, wheel spin is not limited.
®
• If the Stabilitrak system is off,
the system does not assist in
controlling the vehicle.
The following messages will
appear in the Driver Information
Center display:
• TRAC OFF (traction off)
or
• STAB SYS OFF (stability system
off)
