2. ACC (Accessory): In this posi-
tion, you can operate your
electrical accessories or auxil-
iary features plugged into the
accessory power outlets.
Turning to this position un-
locks the ignition.
If your vehicle is equipped with
a manual transmission, this po-
sition also unlocks the steering
wheel.
Use this position if your vehicle
must be pushed or towed.
Leaving the key in the accesso-
ry position for extended peri-
ods will drain the battery.
3. ON: The switch returns to the
ON position after you start the
engine and release the switch.
Even with the engine off, you
can use ON to operate electri-
cal accessories and display
some instrument cluster warn-
ing lights.
Unless the engine is running,
leaving the key in the ON posi-
tion for an extended period of
time will drain the battery.
The automatic transmission is
unlocked in this position.
If your vehicle is equipped with
an automatic transmission, the
ignition must be in the ON po-
sition with the regular brakes
fully applied to shift out of P
(Park).

4. START: Starts the engine.
When the engine starts,
release the key. The ignition
switch will return to ON.
A warning tone will sound if you
open the driver's door when the
ignition is in LOCK or ACC (acces-
sory) and the key is in the ignition.
