Make sure to save the original
hand-held transmitter in case you
ever need to erase or reprogram
the system.
If you ever sell your vehicle, be sure
to erase the programmed buttons.
See "Erasing Universal Transmitter
Buttons" later in this section.
Programming the Transmitter
Make sure that no people or
objects are in the path of the
garage door or other device you
are programming.
If you are programming a garage
door, it is recommended that you
park the vehicle outside the
garage. Make sure the front of the
vehicle is facing the motor head
unit.
For quicker and more accurate
transmission of the radio frequen-
cy, install a new battery in your
hand-held transmitter.
Section 1
1. Press and hold the two outside
buttons for about 20 seconds,
until the indicator light begins
to flash.
Do not hold the buttons in for
longer than 30 seconds.
Do not repeat this step when
programming a second and/or
third transmitter. Performing
this step erases all pro-
grammed universal transmitter
buttons.
