Seats and Restraints
• If the seat has a fixed head rest
or head restraint and the child
restraint has a dual top strap,
route the top straps around the
head rest or head restraint.

Consult the manufacturer's
instructions for the child restraint
to determine when and how to
tighten the top strap.
If the rear head rest interferes with
the installation of the child
restraint, remove the head rest.

Store the head rests in the space
provided on the back panel.
After removing the child restraint,
reinsert the head rest if it has been
removed from the seatback.
SECURING A CHILD RESTRAINT
WITH LOWER ATTACHING
POINTS AND TOP STRAP
CAUTION
Do not leave children unattend-
ed in the vehicle.
Children left unattended could
play with the safety belts. The
belt could become wrapped
around the child's neck and
continue to tighten. The child
could be injured or killed.
Never allow children to play
with the safety belts.
After installing a child restraint,
pull the shoulder belt all the
way out of the retractor to set
the lock (if equipped).
Secure any unused safety belts
behind the child restraint so
children cannot reach them.
