3. Printer-specific Adjustments
Procedures
* Perform the adjustment in accordance with the procedures below.
* All the adjustments are made by the service technician, and by the user.
(1) Perform calibration on the copier and the printer controller.
* For the calibration method, refer to Section 3.1 "To Obtain Uniform Color Balance".
(2) Create the colors of the data to be printed so that they are reproduced with RGB.
• For PCL printing, set the monitor color space to sRGB. For the settings, refer to the monitor manual.
• The colors on the monitor are usually reproduced with RGB. To optimize matching of the color balance
between the printout and the monitor, make the settings so that the colors of the data to be printed are also
reproduced with RGB. For the RGB setting procedures, refer to the manual and help for each application
to create data.
* General office applications (MS-Word, MS-Excel, etc.) reproduce colors with RGB.
* When using PostScript, this adjustment is not effective for the applications which output print data with
CMYK, for example, Illustrator, because RGB data is always converted to CMYK data for printing.
(3) Open the properties of the printer driver and change the color output settings.
For Windows (PostScript)
• Use procedures (a) and (b) below to change the settings of "RGB Source Profile" and "Rendering Style".
(a) Open the properties of the printer driver, select "ColorWise" on the "Fiery Printing" tab, and click the
[Expert Settings] button.
