2. Copier-specific Adjustments
2.7 To Eliminate Moiré
Before the adjustment
Moiré occurs on the photo image.
Explanation
When an original containing a photo or gradations (halftone image) is copied, moiré sometimes occurs on the
copy. Perform the adjustment to the image processing (intensity of sharpness) to prevent moiré from occurring
and to obtain a clear copy image.
Procedures
* Perform the adjustment in accordance with the procedures below.
* Procedures (1) and (2) are used by the service technician, and by the user.
* Procedure (3) is used by the service technician only.
(1) Select the "BASIC" menu from the Control Panel and set the original mode to "PRINTED IMAGE".
After the setting, make a copy and check the image quality.
If further image quality adjustments are still necessary, use the next procedure.
(2) Select "SHARPNESS" from the "COLOR" menu on the Control Panel and press the [SOFT] button to
decrease the intensity of sharpness.
After the setting, make a copy and check the image quality.
If further image quality adjustments are still necessary even if the intensity of sharpness is set to the lowest
level, the service technician should use the next procedure.
