2. Copier-specific Adjustments

2.11 To Correctly Reproduce the Hues of Highlighter Pens

Before the adjustment
The hues of highlighter pens are not
reproduced. Different colors are reproduced
as the same hue and are indistinguishable.
Explanation
When an original with text or markings written with highlighter pens is copied, the hues of the highlighter pens
can change. The ink of highlighter pens is specific and therefore, their hues cannot be reproduced to perfection.
To reproduce similar colors such as pink and purple to make a distinction between them on the copy, perform
color adjustment (color balance adjustment, RGB adjustment) and density adjustment for each color.
Procedures
* Perform the adjustment in accordance with the procedures below.
* Procedure (1) is used by the service technician, and by the user.
* Procedure (2) is used by the service technician only.
(1) Make the color balance adjustment or RGB adjustment to adjust the colors in general.
• Follow procedures (a) through (d) to make the adjustment.
(a) Select the "COLOR" menu from the Control Panel.
(b) Select "COLOR BALANCE" for adjustment with YMCK, and "RGB ADJUSTMENT" for
adjustment with RGB.
(c) Select a "+" position to enhance the tint of the color, and a "−" position to decrease the tint of the
color.
(d) Press the [SET] button.
After adjusting the colors, make a copy and check the image quality.
If further image quality adjustments are still necessary, the service technician should use the next procedure.
