This section describes the DXi8500 Metadata module hard drive activity
and status indicators (see

Condition
Identify drive/preparing for removal
Drive ready for insertion or removal
The drive status indicator remains off until all hard drives are
initialized after system power is turned on. Drives are not
ready for insertion or removal during this time.
