(see Figure 9).
Metadata modules — RAID set characteristics:
• The first drive in each Metadata module (Drive 0) is the global hot
spare for that enclosure.
• The remaining hard drives in each Metadata module are configured
into eight RAID sets:
• First RAID set — Drives 1 and 2 are configured into RAID 1 (1+1)
• Second RAID set — Drives 3 and 4 are configured into RAID 1
(1+1)
• Third RAID set — Drives 5 and 6 are configured into RAID 1
(1+1)
• Fourth RAID set — Drives 7 and 8 are configured into RAID 1
(1+1)
• Fifth RAID set — Drives 9 and 10 are configured into RAID 1
(1+1)
• Sixth RAID set — Drives 11 and 12 are configured into RAID 1
(1+1)
• Seventh RAID set — Drives 13 and 14 are configured into RAID 1
(1+1)
• Eighth RAID set — Drives 15 and 16 are configured into RAID 1
