Checking tightness of rear

(Inspection I)

Tighten the rear wheel studs with a torque
wrench.

Tightening torque:
Studs for rear wheel ................................... 105 Nm
Checking rear wheel bearing

(Inspection III)

Tilt the rear wheel to and fro across its axle.
Checking swinging arm bea-

rings, adjusting if necessary

(Inspections I and III)

Grip the rear wheel by the tyre and attempt to
move it sideways, while holding the grap handle
with your other hand.
Tighten bearings if there is perceptible play
(

ABS] Cleaning inductive signal
transmitter at rear wheel
Clean the inductive sensor at the rear wheel
every 40,000 km (24,000 miles) or every 2 years
at the latest

(Inspections III and IV)

Remove the screw (arrow).
Lever out the inductive sensor and clean it with a
cloth.
Installation is the reverse of the removal proce-
dure.
