Attach locking arm (1).

Insert outer race (2).
•
Coat threaded ring (4) with Loctite 577.
•
Tighten threaded ring (4) with pin wrench,
BMW No. 33 1 700.
•
Oil thrust ring (5) lightly and place in position.

Make sure that the lip of the shaft seal is seated
correctly on the thrust ring.

The nut must not damage shaft sealing ring (3).

(clean thread + apply Loctite 577) .............. 118 Nm
Nut for input bevel gear
(clean thread + apply Loctite 2701) ............ 200 Nm
Housing cover .............................................. 35 Nm

Clean the threads of hex nut (6) and input bevel
pinion.
Coat the thread of hex nut (6) with Loctite 2701.
Important:
Tighten hex nut (6) with 36 mm (1.4173 in) socket
wrench insert and reducing adapter,
BMW No. 33 1 720.
Tightening torque:
