Crankshaft
Main journals should show no scoring or scuffing. Threads, keyways and
splines must be in good condition.
Crankshaft straightness
Place the crankshaft (1) on a stand (2) with two dial gauges (3) positioned on
the journals.
Turn the crankshaft and measure runout.
STANDARD
< than 0.02 mm
(0.00078 in.)
If measured runout exceeds 0.04 mm (0.0016 in.), the crankshaft
must be straightened or replaced.
