9.5 The Plotter is Turned On But Doesn't Operate

Symptom
The control panel's POWER lamp does
not light.
The POWER lamp lights but nothing ap-
pears on the display panel.

9.6 Mechanical Error Messages and Their Causes

Error message
CURRENT LIMIT
POSITION ERROR
The POWER lamp flickers.
SPEED ERROR
The POWER lamp flickers.
Cause
The plotter is not being supplied with
power.
The plotter is defective.
Cause
Excessive load is causing the current
to the motor to exceed the rated value.
Cutting conditions do not suit the cutting
medium.
Movement of the pen carriage is being
obstructed.
The pen carriage was subjected to
external pressure during cutting.
Film scraps stuck in the film's moving
parts are impeding plotter operation.
If either error occurs frequently, contact your sales representative
or nearest Graphtec dealer.
Immediately after turning on the plot-
ter, excessive force was used to
manually move the pen carriage.
The internal speed control is faulty.
If the error occurs frequently, contact your sales representative or

Solution
Check that the power cord is
securely connected to the
plotter's AC line inlet and the
electrical output.

dealer.
Solution
Turn off the plotter, remove the
obstacle, them turn the plotter
back on.
Lower the cutting SPEED
and/or the cutting FORCE
Turn off the plotter, remove
the obstacle, then turn the plot-
ter back on.
Turn off the plotter, remove
the obstacle, then turn the plot-
ter back on.
Turn off the plotter, remove
the film scraps, then turn the
plotter back on.
Turn the plotter off then back
on again.
