2. Stop the engine and remove the measuring
equipment.
3. Install:
• Cap
• Intake air pressure sensor hose
4. Adjust:
• Throttle cable free play
Refer to "CHECKING THE THROTTLE GRIP
OPERATION" on page 3-31.
Throttle cable free play
3.0–5.0 mm (0.12–0.20 in)

CHECKING THE EXHAUST SYSTEM

1. Check:
• Exhaust pipe "1"
• Muffler "2"
Cracks/damage → Replace.
• Gasket "3", "4"
Exhaust gas leaks → Replace.
2. Check:
Tightening torque
• Exhaust pipe nuts "5"
• Exhaust pipe bolt "6"
• Exhaust pipe joint bolt "7"
• Muffler bolt "8"
Exhaust pipe nut
20 Nm (2.0 m·kgf, 14 ft·lbf)
Exhaust pipe bolt
20 Nm (2.0 m·kgf, 14 ft·lbf)
Exhaust pipe joint bolt
20 Nm (2.0 m·kgf, 14 ft·lbf)
Muffler bolt
47 Nm (4.7 m·kgf, 34 ft·lbf)

ADJUSTING THE EXHAUST GAS VOLUME

TIP
Be sure to set the CO density level to standard,
and then adjust the exhaust gas volume.
1. Turn the main switch to "OFF".
2. Simultaneously press and hold the left set
button "1" and right set button "2", turn the
main switch to "ON", and continue to press
the buttons for 8 seconds or more.
TIP
• All displays on the meter disappear except the
odometer displays.
• "dIAG" appears on the odometer LCD.
