Focusing
manually
You can gain better results by manually adjusting the focus in the fbllowing cases.
Normally, focus is automatically adjusted.
•The autofocus is not effective when shooting
Sulojects through glass coated with water & oplets
Horizontal stripes
Sulojectswith little contrast with backgrounds such as walls and sky
•When you want to change the tiocus fl'om a suloject in the foreground to a suloject in
the backgrotmd.
• Shooting a stationa W subject when using a tripod.
(1)Set FOCUS to MAN when the POWER switch is set to CAMERA or
MEMORY/NETWORK
(DCR TRV50 only).
The ,_ indicator appears.
(2) Turn the focus ring to sharpen focus.

To return
to the autofocus
Set FOCUS to AUTO.
To record
distant
subjects
When you set FOCUS to INFINITY,
the lens fbcuses on and i_ indicator
appears.
When
you release
FOCUS, your camcorder
returns
to the manual
focus. Use this mode when
yore camcorder
focuses on near objects even though
you are trying to shoot a distant
object.
