ISL trunking user guide

This chapter contains updates to the HP StorageWorks ISL Trunking Version 3.1.x/4.1.x User
Guide, part number AA-RTSAC-TE.
In the section "Trunking Ports," in the third bullet on page 17, replace the following
information:
ISL Trunking does not support the LE, L1, or L2 portcfglongdistance modes. For
information about these modes and Extended Fabrics in general, refer to the HP StorageWorks
Extended Fabric Version 3.1.x/4.1.x User Guide.
With this text:
ISL Trunking is supported for normal E_Ports (referred to as L0 in the
portcfglongdistance command) with LWL media up to 5 km at the full speed
permitted by the link. With LWL media, the throughput begins to fall off beyond 5 km, due to
normal latency effects.
HP ISL Trunking for Fabric OS v3.2 supports LE, L0.5, L1, and LD modes (if the LD cable
lengths are within the supported static mode ranges less than or equal to 50 km).
HP ISL Trunking for Fabric OS v3.2 does not support L2 mode.
For information about these modes and Extended Fabrics in general, refer to the HP
StorageWorks Extended Fabric Version 3.1.x/4.1.x User Guide.
