Installing your Matrox Helios board

Before you install your Matrox Helios board, some precautionary measures must
be taken. Turn off the power to your computer and its peripherals, and drain static
electricity from your body (by touching a metal part of the computer chassis).
Proceed with the following steps to install your board. Note that your board should
be installed before you install your software.
1. Remove the cover from your computer; refer to your computer's documentation
for instructions.
2. Check that you have an empty x4 or x8 PCIe slot in which to install your Matrox
Helios eCL, eA, or eD board. For Matrox Helios XCL, XA, or XD, check that
you have an empty PCI-X slot. Matrox Helios XCL, XA, or XD can also be
installed in a conventional 32- or 64-bit PCI
rate between the board and the Host. For the Matrox Helios eA/XA and eD/XD
boards, the slot must be able to accommodate a full-length board.
