Installation and Set Up Guide

This chapter provides the information necessary for performing an incoming inspection and
setting up your 4286A.

Incoming Inspection

Warning
To avoid hazardous electrical shock, do not turn on the 4286A when there
are signs of shipping damage to any portion of the outer enclosure (for
example, covers, panel, or display)
Inspect the shipping container for damage. If the shipping container or cushioning material
is damaged, it should be kept until the contents of the shipment have been checked for
completeness and the 4286A has been checked mechanically and electrically. The contents
of the shipment should be as listed in Table 2-1. If the contents are incomplete, if there is
mechanical damage or defect, or if the 4286A does not pass the power-on selftests, notify the
nearest Agilent Technologies oce. If the shipping container is damaged, or the cushioning
material shows signs of unusual stress, notify the carrier as well as the Agilent Technologies
oce. Keep the shipping materials for the carrier's inspection.
The line voltage selector is set at the factory to correspond to the most commonly used line
voltage of the country of destination. If you want to change the line voltage, see \Changing
the Line Voltage Setting" in Appendix B.
