Memory Module Installation
The DIMM installation procedure for a liquid-cooled module and an air-cooled module is different. Refer to
the appropriate subsection for your specific module configuration.
The Intel® Server Board D50DNP1SB supports DDR5 RDIMMs, 3DS-RDIMMs, and 9x4 RDIMMs. In addition,
the server board supports Intel® Optane™ PMem 300 series modules for air-cooled configurations only.
Liquid-cooled configurations do not support Intel® Optane™ PMem 300 series modules. These configurations
require all memory slots to be populated with DDR5 DIMMs.
DDR5 DIMM and Intel® Optane™ PMem 300 series modules are commonly referred to as "memory module" in
the following instructions.
Note: The system requires that all memory slots be populated with either a memory module or a DIMM
blank for air-cooled configurations. Preinstalled DIMM blanks should only be removed when replacing it with
an actual memory module. When removing a memory module from the system, it must be replaced with an
equivalent device or a DIMM blank. Liquid-cooled configurations require all DIMM slots to be populated with
DDR5 DIMMs. See
