To change the directory on a Polycom VVX phone, follow these steps:

1. Access the Directory:
- Press the Home button.
- Tap Directories.

2. Add a New Contact:
- Tap the + sign.
- Enter the first name, last name, and contact number (phone number).
- Ensure that the fields for First Name, Last Name, and Contact are filled out.

3. Customize Additional Fields:
- Enter a Favorite Index (speed dial reference number). If not set, the system assigns the next available position.
- Tap Label and enter a label for the contact.

4. Advanced Options:
- You can customize options like auto-rejecting the contact (sending to voicemail) or diverting the caller to another number. These are optional settings.

Make the required changes in the directory and save them as needed.
