1. Remove any accessories or samples from the sample compartment.
2. Choose Experiment Setup > Diagnostic > Align and wait for spectrometer alignment to
complete.

1. Make sure the source holder is properly seated in the instrument.

1. Choose Experiment Setup > Diagnostic and click the Power icon. Check that the
current value for +12 Volt is within specifications. If it is out of the specified range,
replace the power supply.
2. If other values on the Power diagnostic screen are out of their specified ranges, contact

1. If the instrument is equipped with an optional purge kit, check that the purge gas flow is
set properly; see Setting Purge Gas Controls
2. Check the humidity indicator and replace the desiccant and indicator; see
Desiccant for instructions.
