NOTICE Do not place anything on top of the vents at the back of the spectrometer.
Electronic components can overheat if these vents are blocked.
After the spectrometer is installed, you can leave it turned on.
Note To preserve the life of the source, you can turn it off manually in OMNIC software
by choosing Collect (menu) > Experiment Setup, selecting the Bench tab and setting
Source to Off.
If you turn off the source, wait 5 minutes after you turn it back on before taking a sample
measurement.

The Nicolet iS5N spectrometer includes the iD1 transmission accessory which accommodates
a wide variety of samples and slide-mounted sample holders for transmission experiments. A
heated version of the transmission accessory, called the iD1H, is available for liquid samples
that require temperature stabilization. Mounting baseplates are available to accommodate a
wide variety of standard accessories from us and other manufacturers. Contact us for details.
All of our integrated accessories and baseplates are easy to install and remove and are
recognized automatically by the software.
