Checking and Changing the Purge Gas Filter

Check the purge filter occasionally to make sure it is clean and dry. (The illustration below
shows where the purge filter is located.)
If the filter is clean and white, it does not need replacement. If the filter is yellow, or otherwise
discolored, or if it is contaminated with debris or foreign particles, replace the filter.
NOTICE We recommend maintaining seal and desiccation and/or purging the
instrument at all times. Equipment damage due to failure to maintain seal and desiccation
and/or purge is not covered under the warranty.
Time needed: 5 minutes or less
Tools needed: iS5 series replacement purge gas filter

To change the purge gas filter
1. Turn off the purge gas at the main valve. Do not turn down the flowmeter or the pressure
regulator.
2. Remove the plastic bowl that houses the filter and then remove the filter. (You can
unscrew them both by hand.)
