To replace sample compartment windows
1. Turn off the instrument power. See
Note If your instrument is purged, you can leave the purge on while you replace the
windows to prevent ambient air from entering the spectrometer.
2. Remove any sampling accessory from the instrument. See
3. Line up the three ribs in the window replacement tool with the notches in the rim of the
installed window.

Note The window fittings are tight. Use one hand to stabilize the instrument and the
other to remove the window.
4. Press firmly on the tool and turn it counterclockwise to loosen the window.
5. Remove the tool and continue loosening the window by hand until it releases.
NOTICE Use gloves to handle replacement windows and handle them by the rims.
(Avoid touching the windows even when wearing gloves.)
6. Gently insert the new window into the opening and turn it clockwise until hand tight.
The window should screw in easily at the start; if it doesn't, remove the window and
restart to avoid stripping the threads.
7. Using the window replacement tool, slowly and firmly turn the window as far as it will go
(you will feel the O-ring compress fully when the window rim contacts the housing).
8. Turn on the instrument power and start OMNIC software.
9. Make sure the window type is properly configured in OMNIC software.
Choose Advanced Diagnostics in the Collect menu. The Diagnostics screen is displayed.
