Troubleshooting
Using the Troubleshooting Topics
Thermo Scientific
The troubleshooting topics will help you solve problems with the instrument. These topics are
divided as follows:
Hardware Problems
contains topics that address specific hardware problems you may
encounter. Each topic lists steps you can take to try to resolve the problem.
Error Messages
contains topics that deal with error messages you may see. Each topic lists
steps you can take if you see such error messages.
To expedite and assist in problem diagnosis, please be prepared to send us a copy of your
diagnostics log file. The diagnostic log includes a history of important system parameters and
events that occur during system operation. To copy the diagnostics log to your Windows
desktop, start OMNIC software and choose File > Copy Diagnostics File to Desktop. Attach
this file to an e-mail message to our Technical Support group. See
addresses.
Note If you are having a problem with applications or software, refer to the
documentation that came with your system.
WARNING When performing any of the procedures in the troubleshooting topics, always
follow the safety precautions included in this document or Help system and in any of the
other documentation that came with your instrument.
