2.2.2

System Cover Installation

For each top cover panel:
1. Carefully align and set the top cover panel on top of the chassis. Then, slide it inwards until it locks
into place (see Letter A).
Shipping Note: When transporting the server system, Intel recommends installing the four top cover screws
before shipping.

Air duct Removal / Installation

Required Tools and Supplies
Anti-static wrist strap and conductive workbench pad (recommended)
The Intel® Server System M50FCP2U supports three air duct options. The type used depends on the system
configuration:
(Default) Standard air duct for systems configured with 2U processor heat sinks
Air duct option for systems configured with 1U processor heat sinks
Air duct option for systems configured with high-power, General-Purpose Graphics Processing Unit
(GPGPU) add-in cards. 1U processor heat sinks required
Note: Always operate the server system with the air duct in place. The air duct is required for proper airflow
within the server system.
