Installation and Reference for the BayStack 820 ISDN Router
+set port <port_#>
Initializes or modifies the characteristics of a hardware port on the router.
Hardware ports are identified by number and each generates its own unique
interactive dialog.
Port Type: ISDN
This option configures the ISDN port.
The ISDN interface supports a Basic Rate (2B+1D) Interface and a variety of
worldwide switch types. Some carriers offer "permanent" B channel subscriptions
over either a single 64K B channel (1B+0D), or two B channels combined
(2B+0D) offering an effective speed of 128K. Switches in North America often
require Service Profile Identifier (SPID) numbers. In many such cases, the router
can automatically detect both the switch type and the SPID numbers. Certain
types of North American switches can also detect the ISDN Directory Numbers.
Normally, if the router is connected to this type of switch, all of the required
information is automatically detected when the ISDN line is initialized. If the
router cannot detect a Directory Number, you must enter it manually. If you use
the auto detect feature, you must enter the Directory Numbers for the ISDN line.
Example
BayStack>>> set port 1
enter switch :
