IP Packet Filtering Requirements Examples

If you want to, for example, block any outside user from being able to Telnet into
your private Web server. You specify that remote devices with any IP address or
port number are not allowed to communicate with the local Web server (identified
by its IP address and the HTTP port number) over the Internet connection.
If you want to block Internet access for all employees in the sales department, you
specify that local devices with the range of IP addresses in the Sales department
and any port number are not allowed to communicate with any IP address or port
number over the Internet connection.

Adding a Packet Rule

To add or edit a packet rule:
Choose Configuration > Advanced > IP Filter.

Select a connection profile from the list.

If your only need is to access the Internet, for example, select only the Internet
Access connection profile.
