BIOPSY INSTRUMENT HOLDERS
Ensure you gently tighten the fixator screw on the biopsy tube as overtightening it could
permanently damage the external tube of the instrument.
Handling and Changing Instruments
Warning
The sleeve of the Frameless Biopsy System is not suitable for repeated instrument
positioning. Once the biopsy tube is aligned to a trajectory, do not remove it. If the biopsy
tube is removed and reinserted into the sleeve, its position may not be the same.
Warning
To prevent patient injury and/or possible contamination, do not exchange the sleeve and
biopsy tube inserts in the immediate vicinity of the operating table. Only exchange the
sleeve and inserts after the biopsy tube has been removed from the guide.
Warning
During insertion into the Instrument Calibration Matrix, do not rotate the biopsy guiding
tube counterclockwise.

Open the fixation screw ① on the biopsy tube ② and screw in two tube inserts ③.
On the biopsy system, open the guide screw ④ as much as possible and insert the
sleeve ⑦, making sure that the guide screw fits into the guide pit ⑤.
NOTE: The notch ⑥ should fit over a pin inside the guide and be kept in position during
assembly.
Drape the patient as usual, ensuring that the skull clamp is also draped.
If attaching the biopsy system to the Doro Radiolucent Skull Clamp, first attach the Inter-
face Skull Clamp for Biopsy Arm/Varioguide (19223-03) to the skull clamp interface.
NOTE: The Radiolucent Adapter for Doro Skull Clamp (19147-06) should also be at-
tached.
Place the T-screw directly onto the skull clamp, V-inset, or interface, thereby puncturing
the drape ⑧.
Close the screw tightly, ensuring that the teeth of both components are properly inter-
locked ⑨.
