Ultrasound Calibration

Ultrasound Registration Phantom
Ultrasound Registration Phantom (22630) is used for calibrating and verifying Ultrasound
Adapters.
The phantom consists of an arrangement of wires used by the software as the reference for the
calibration points. There are five calibration points at a depth of 4 cm, and three calibration points
at a depth of 8 cm, which allows the calibration of various ultrasound probes.
NOTE: The phantom must be draped with the Ultrasound Registration Phantom Drape (20
PCS) (22531) before use.
Correct Calibration
Make sure that the ultrasound probe is calibrated within the same conditions as it is used in the
workflow (e.g., if navigation is performed with a draped probe, calibration should also take place
with the drape). If the probe is sterilizable and the calibration is done without a drape, then no
drape should be used during navigation. Otherwise recalibration is recommended.
