Chapter 13 Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Press and hold the SHOCK button
front panel until the unit discharges.
10 Turn the Mode Selector to PACER.
Note: If the unit requires a password, use the
Trim Knob to enter the password and then
press the knob to select OK. The unit then
switches to manual mode.
11 Perform the following steps:
• Set the Pacer mode to Fixed.
• Set the Pacer Rate to 60 ppm.
• Set the Output to 100 mA.
12 Press the Print button on the front panel of the
unit to stop the printout.
13 Disconnect the test connector from the MFC.
14 Turn the Mode Selector from the PACER
position to MONITOR.
15 Reconnect the external AC power to the
ZOLL M2 rear panel.

Response
Verify that the defibrillator discharges and
on the
that a 30J TEST PASSED message displays.
If the message 30J TEST FAILED displays,
contact the appropriate technical personnel
or the ZOLL Technical Service Department.
Verify that the Pacer Settings display on the
screen.
Verify that pace markers are printed every
25 mm on the chart recorder printout.
Note: If a printout does not automatically
begin after entry into Pacer mode, press the
Print button on the front panel to start a
continuous printout. Press the print button
again to stop the printout.
Verify that the Clear quick access key is
flashing and that there is an alarm tone.
Verify that the pacer status bar displays:
PACER: CHECK PADS - PADS SHORTED.
Verify that the pacer status bar alternately
displays:
PACER: ATTACH PADS and
PACER: CHECK PADS - PADS SHORTED.
Verify that the Clear quick access key
continues to display and the alarm tone
continues to sound.
Verify that the Pacer settings are removed
from the display, the alarm tone stops, and
the Clear quick access key disappears and is
replaced by the Diag quick access key.
Verify that the green AC mains power LED on
the ZOLL M2 front panel is illuminated.
