Notice!
Operate the "laser ready" button only after making sure that the handpiece is
directed towards the surgical site and all safety measures required for the
prevention of laser-induced fires and explosions have been taken (as described
in section 2.3).
Make the laser ready for use by pressing the "laser ready" button (S3, Fig. 6.17). This
button is now backlit by a yellow LED.
Notice!
Prior to operating the footswitch, once again check the set values (as indicated
on the control panel) for correctness.
To start the laser treatment, operate the footswitch. This activates the laser radiation. At
the same time, the "laser activation" indicator (L1, Fig. 5.3) comes on and an alert is
sounded as long as the irradiation process goes on.
If the footswitch is released before the set pulse time has elapsed, laser emission is
stopped at once. When operating the footswitch anew, the full pulse time will apply again.
Notice!
Take care that no blood, tissue particles or smoke can penetrate into the
handpiece during the therapy. Such particles could damage the handpiece
optics as a result of increased absorption. If particles are detected on the lens
system, disconnect the handpiece and remove them in accordance with the
instructions provided.
Be sure to switch the laser to "STANDBY" first!
Notice!
If the laser treatment is interrupted for an extended period of time, always
press the "standby" button for safety.
As long as the green STANDBY button light is on, accidental laser activation is
prevented.
