Securing the Articulated Mirror Arm

Following installation of the arm, secure it with the clamping mechanism. This prevents
accidental arm loosening in the thread (and consequential defocusing of the beam). Rotate the
screw (2) clockwise with the wrench (3). This moves the clamping jaw (1, Fig. 4.1) back over
the collar of the articulated mirror arm (under 7, Fig. 4.4), thus preventing arm loosening.

Following arm installation, re-attach the gray cap to close opening 2.
To remove the articulated mirror arm, the clamping mechanism must be
unlocked!

Application Handpiece

Remove the screwed-on plastic protective cover at the distal end of the mirror arm, then
attach the application handpiece of your choice.
Warning: Never operate the system as long as the beam-path protective caps
are still in place!
Warning: Never activate the laser without using a handpiece! The laser beam
exits the mirror arm so highly focused that it is "sharp" even at a distance of
several meters. This creates a considerable hazard potential.
Upon connecting the handpiece, the transparent air tube must be connected to the tube
connector of the handpiece.
