Emergency Shutdown

As the name suggests, the emergency shutdown function – the red pushbutton switch with a
yellow edge (1, Fig. 5.8) – may be used only in a case of emergency.
Procedure:
Press the red emergency stop switch located below the control panel.
The laser beam will be cut off at once and the system will be shut down completely.
Set the keylock switch (located on the supply unit) to position "0" (Fig. 5.9).
Before restarting the system, verify that the red emergency stop switch is in the "pulled-
out" (deactivated) position (Fig. 5.9). To deactivate this function, turn the switch a little
leftwards or rightwards until it snaps out.
Never use the emergency stop switch for normal switch-off!

Relocating the Unit

The system can be easily transported to another location. For safety reasons, however, it is
advisable to remove all accessories prior to relocation. Note that the unit must be moved with
care. Avoid jerks, vibrations, shocks and the like, particularly with regard to the optical
components!
If outdoor transportation is required, note that the unit is frost-protected up to a temperature
of -10°C (14°F).
If the system needs to be transported in a vehicle, dismount the articulated arm and transport
it separately.
In a vehicle, the laser unit should be transported lying, with the front side (face) down. Be
sure to remove the key first and store it in a safe place. We recommend placing the unit on
soft pads for protection. Apply one pad below the lower edge of the unit's display and place a
second pad underneath the bottom part of the unit (right above the castor supports). Be sure
to protect the unit against toppling over after placing it onto these pads.
