Presetting datums

Datums can be set to non-zero values that match known part coordinates using the
numeric keypad and the Preset function.
Presetting datums is useful when measurements must be made from a part
coordinate specified on a part drawing.
To preset datums to a known part coordinate:
Press the ABS/INC soft key to select the datum to preset
Move the stage to target the part coordinate that you wish to use as the datum
Press the Preset soft key
You will be instructed to select the axes to preset
Select the axes you wish to preset by pressing the desired axis key(s)
An axis will be underlined
Enter the preset coordinate for the datum using the numeric keypad
Press the enter key
